Recorded and mixed live by dj dAz for Acid Daz productions. Being a follower and lover of music I always find the music that inspires me is the music that goes deeper into the soul, music that has a bigger sound and a conscious message behind it, created by people who choose to push their limits further and display the very talents that brings them back 360˚ to the understanding that we are human. It just so happens some of them can sing better than us. Lot’s of strong vocals on here and some great rhythms too. I know this is probably not the trendiest mix I ever done but these songs have been in the back of my mind for many years and yet there are still recognizable hip hop samples as used by J Dilla, The Pharcyde, ATCQ, and Stetsasonic. Peace and blessings!

Videos I Like.. Obrigado Dilla

I think if there was ever a music project that inspires me and makes me jealous at the same time due to the fact someone else did it, and did it well. This would be it. B+ and Mochilla did a beautiful job. Rest in peace DJ Primo!

Recorded and mixed live by dj dAz for Umoja Hi Fi music. With this mix I wanted to do a strictly thug jiggy ghetto vibe dedicated to some famous samples used more often in gangsta rap than in classic hip hop. I’m not sure if I achieved what I was going for but the chunes are still pimp like an 8 track player in a 1970’s Cadillac Eldorado

Shinehead, J Rocc, Byze One, Daz, DJ Destroyer, Danny Holloway @ Soundation 1/9/10

Yes I. Got invited to spin a set along with some legends at Soundation today. A reggae spot happening at the Verdugo Bar in Glassell Park, a neighbor"hood" of Los Angeles. My man Byze One throws a Saturday session inviting DJ's to come through and spin reggae. And today was a king of kings, lord of lords type of day. The almighty Shinehead, DJ J Rocc of the Beatjunkies, Byze One, Myself, DJ Destroyer, and quite possibly the godfather of all reggae knowledge Danny Holloway... Danny's history in reggae music dates back to the late 1970's through his connection with Chris Blackwell and Island Records. Took some photos and video from the day. Check... check... check out the Stones Throw slipmats... we keep it modern but classic!. Rrrriiiggghhhtttt!!!! It's all about the chunes, eff the hype!

Shinehead pon de mix!
